What to Expect

Everyone is welcome at Mount Carmel Church of God. Whether you are simply seeking what it means to know about God, or are looking for a new church home, you are welcome here.

Attire

People often ask, What should I wear to church? Don't worry, we have many who wear casual attire and we have some who like to dress up a bit to come to church, so whatever your dress you will be accepted and will not feel alone whether you are in jeans, a dress or tie and shirt. Come and be comfortable.

Worship Service

Our worship services are every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

If you have children you will be able to bring them with you to the worship service, or they can join Children's Church.

Music

Please, come into the sanctuary and make yourself at home. Our services usually begin with a time of music in which people may stand or choose to sit. Our music is a traditional. If you know the songs, sing along, if not—don't worry about it and just relax and enjoy the experience.

Offering

During most services we will have a time of offering. This is when those who are regular attenders give their tithes and offerings as a part of their worship to God, and to help support the ministries of the church. Visitors are welcome to participate, but are certainly not expected to do so.

Sermon

The pastor will usually preach a sermon. This is a teaching lesson, taking scripture verses from the Bible and applying them to our own lives. If you have a Bible, you are welcome to bring it with you. A lot of people use e-versions of Bibles in their phones and other electronic devises these days. If you don’t have any of these, don’t worry—the Pastor will read the Scripture as well.

Prayer

There may be a time during the service when the pastor invites people to come down the front to an altar for a special time of prayer. This is not required but should you desire someone to pray with you, you are always welcome.
